Helane Morrison is the CEO of a renowned advisory firm, Hall Capital Partners LLC. She is also an active member of the San Francisco-based company’s executive committee. Over the years, Helane has focused on rescuing the public from corrupt officials by enforcing regulatory compliance, integrity and accountability in all the dealings undertaken by a company. I believe that she started focusing on corrupt dealings after the economic crash of 2008 when people lost trust in financial institutions.
Morrison has played an imperative role in the compliance field. To this end, the company recruits and retains experienced and qualified employees. Every investment that they make is solid and ethical. Before working with financial advisors, brokerage firms and mutual fund advisors, Hall Capital’s experts conduct thorough background checks on their ownership and operations. I am certain that these institutions are entrusted with client’s money only if they are legit. In case of any anomaly, the company’s professionals enforce disciplinary actions that may include pressing criminal charges and correction practices.
Previously, Helane worked in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) office in San Francisco. As a regional director, she was involved in enforcing securities, regulatory compliance and litigation matters in five Northwest States and Northern California. In addition, she represented SEC in financial communities, business relations, government agencies and legal issues. During her tenure, she focused on fraud cases involving leading executives from renowned corporations such as HBO, Hewlett-Packard, Google and Nextcard Inc.
I have also seen Morrison make speeches on issues of legal matters and compliance. She is an active member of the board of Regional Parks Foundation and the American Bar Association. Helane is an alumnus of the Northwestern University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She is also a graduate of the esteemed University of California Berkeley School of Law where she earned her J.D.
For a decade, Morrison worked for Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Rabkin. In 1991, she was promoted to serve as a partner. Helane zeroed in on business litigation, internal corporate investigations, SEC matters and defense of private securities. She also served as a law clerk for US Court of Appeals’ Hon. Richard Posen and Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun.
Helane has been passionate about fighting against deceptive corporate crimes. She believes in the principle of morally upstanding values and upholding ethical values. Morrison has managed to expose many executives who take advantage of their power and financial muscles to exploit the public. As a champion for industrial justice, she has used her skills in law and journalism to protect the public and restore their confidence in the financial markets.
